The Company

Our client is a major force within the manufacturing sector. Due to growth, they are now recruiting for a HR Business Partner.

The Role

  • The role is managing the delivery of a site HR service ensuring the development and consistent application of HR policies and procedures to optimise employee performance.
  • To manage the provision a full site HR service, incorporating employee relations, training and development.
  • To ensure operations are within group policies and procedures, legislative requirements and in line with best practice.
  • To provide advice and guidance to management, with regards to policies and procedures for managing HR.
  • Will report to the Site Manager and Head of HR overseeing around 100 staff onsite.
  • As part of the site management team you will ensure that the plant meets the annual budget and contribute to the decision-making process and strategic direction of the plant together with the Head of HR.
  • Ensure company structure is appropriate to meet the plant objectives and is in line with standards.
  • Form annual manpower plans in line with business requirements and ensure plant adherence.
  • Ensure the maintenance of effective employee relations, which are in line with business requirements via the Union.
  • Facilitate effective communication systems within the plant for all employees.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure the management of HR in line with legal requirements and best practice.
  • Devise and implement policies and procedures for the administration and development of remuneration systems and conditions of employment for all employees.
  • Develop and implement procedures to recruit and select staff in line with approved vacancies.
  • Support the management system to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all employees.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of all site policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities for Senior Staff and Management positions.
  • Coordinate and monitor the application of individual review processes for Managers and Professionals.
  • Manage the annual staffing review and establish the Company training and succession plans.
  • Develop and deliver training and development programs for Company policies, procedures and reviews.
  • Periodic audits on the time and attendance and payroll systems.
  • Ensure continuous development of the Human Resources team.
  • Conduct discipline (dismissal level) and grievance meetings.
  • External agency correspondence.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month end reporting.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a similar role in manufacturing preferred.
  • You will be a proactive and commercial HR lead who can bring a fresh perspective to the organisation.
  • Must be someone who can quickly understand the business, align with their culture and apply expertise to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to navigate challenging situations.
  • Will have a proven track record in HR leadership.
  • A CIPD qualification would be preferred.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Must be happy to work on site full time.
