Social Worker - FosteringLocation: West MidlandsSalary: CompetitiveMyn is recruiting for a Social Worker to join our long-term partner’s Fostering Team in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference by supporting foster carers and helping provide the best outcomes for children in care.What You’ll Do:
  • Supervise and support foster carers, helping them provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in their care.
  • Participate in the recruitment and assessment of new foster carers.
  • Act as a duty officer, liaising with district social workers and conducting initial viability assessments for new carers.
  • Stay informed on legal guidelines and National Minimum Standards to ensure foster carers comply with regulations.
  • Attend Fostering Panels and Court as needed, advocating for the best interests of foster children and carers.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g. DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
  • Experience working with families and children, especially in situations where substitute care has been provided.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, comprehensive assessments and reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, parents, carers, and colleagues from other agencies.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • A commitment to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice, with a focus on equality and diversity.
