Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:
- Provide a safe, nurturing classroom and school environment that helps students to develop as learners.
- Consistently plan, resource and deliver lessons that allow stimulating and enjoyable learning.
- Supervision of teaching assistants within the classroom.
- Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets and determine appropriate intervention.
- Manage behaviour, mark work and, talk to parents and carers about their children's progress
- With specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and psychologists.
Requirements of a SEN Teacher:
- Must have a QTS.
- Experience within SEN, especially with speech, language and communication and challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Adaptable and positive approach.
