  • Perform hourly sand tests on backing and facing sand, including compatibility, green strength, permeability, moisture, mould hardness, wet tensile strength, and sand temperature.
  • Accurately record results using our computer system.
  • Monitor metal casting temperatures and pour speeds.
  • Assist with monthly core machine calibration.
  • Maintain laboratory and working areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including wearing the correct PPE at all times.
  • Report any concerns affecting casting quality, equipment condition, or raw materials.
  • Work collaboratively with the production and quality teams to optimise processes and output.

  • Good timekeeping and attendance.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Computer literacy for recording and reviewing data.
  • Ability to work independently and plan workload efficiently.
Desirable Skills (Not Essential, but a Bonus!):
  • Forklift licence
  • Crane, lifting, and slinging experience
  • First Aid training
