Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Salary: £13.00 p/h

Hours: Flexible (24-30hrs p/w - to be agreed with successful candidate)

Based: Kington, Herefordshire (HR5)

We are recruiting for a proficient Accounts Assistant to join the accounts team, starting as soon as possible, reporting to the Finance Manager(s). You will be working for a well-known and well-respected manufacturing and electrical installation company servicing the water and waste-water sector, employing around 50 staff.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Sage accounting software (or equivalent)
  • General accountancy
  • Good communication skills including excellent telephone manner
  • Confidence in speaking to customers/suppliers
  • Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Eque2 construction software
  • AAT Level 2 in Accountancy or equivalent

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inputting bills onto accounting software Eque2 posting to Sage accounts
  • Customer invoicing
  • Director’s expenses
  • Directors’ mileage claims
  • Assisting with bank reconciliation, ensuring all transactions are on the system
  • Employee one off expenses
  • Employee Barclaycard - credit card receipts
  • Customer payments - inputting on Sage
  • Creating contract numbers, updating customer files and relevant excel sheets
  • Answering telephone calls
  • Assist with year-end stock control
