HGV Mechanic - Immediate Start

Fulltime - Permanent/Temp to Perm - Salary £15+ DOE - Hereford

 

Our clients, a family ownedcompany within the waste management industry are looking to recruit a HGV Mechanic to their facility based in Hereford, this really is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company, working in a small team.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles in the company fleet
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes -PMI
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness
  • Using diagnostic testing equipment.
  • Defect rectification
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled 
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Experienced, time served HGV Mechanic - Desirable
  • Mech/Electrical qualification - NVQ
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Problem-solving and time-management abilities.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with drivers and fleet managers.
  • Knowledge of legal regulations for HGV operation and maintenance- Desirable
  • Highly organised approach.
  • Ability to work to deadlines
