HGV Mechanic - Immediate Start
Fulltime - Permanent/Temp to Perm - Salary £15+ DOE - Hereford
Our clients, a family ownedcompany within the waste management industry are looking to recruit a HGV Mechanic to their facility based in Hereford, this really is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company, working in a small team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles in the company fleet
- Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes -PMI
- Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness
- Using diagnostic testing equipment.
- Defect rectification
- Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled
- Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management
Skills and Attributes:
- Experienced, time served HGV Mechanic - Desirable
- Mech/Electrical qualification - NVQ
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Problem-solving and time-management abilities.
- Good communication skills for liaising with drivers and fleet managers.
- Knowledge of legal regulations for HGV operation and maintenance- Desirable
- Highly organised approach.
- Ability to work to deadlines
