Our client, a leading global supplier, are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician based at their Kirkcaldy based Production site.


Reporting to the Engineering Team Leaders, you will join the team and have exposure to working in a heavy manufacturing production environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Exhibit a sound Health & Safety work ethic at all times.
  • Use knowledge and experience of sound engineering practices within a modern production environment to offer front line maintenance support to all production departments daily.
  • Carry out PPM activities across the site as required.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks on Site Services. (Compressed Air Systems. HPHW Systems, Package Boilers, Cooling Towers and Refrigeration Plant).
  • Fault find & rectify mechanical & basic electrical faults in a modern production environment to include conveying systems, couplings, bearings, motors and gearboxes. Experience with HPHW/Steam boilers may be advantageous.
  • Be involved in process improvement projects designed to reduce downtime & improve departmental efficiencies.

To be suitable for this challenging and rewarding role you will have the following key skills and experience:

  • Have a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Proven experience within a heavy production environment
  • Specialised experience in a mechanical maintenance environment with some basic electrical experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and working to a high standard

The role will involve working a 38-hour week within a three-shift pattern over a five day week (Mon - Fri).
3 shift rota, Days, Nights & Backshifts. 38-hour week, paid 30 mins breaks.
Monday-Thursday - Days 6am-2pm; Back 2pm-10pm; Night 10pm-6am
Friday - Day 6am-12pm, Back 12pm-6pm, Night 6pm-12pm

You will receive a salary of 44,300 pa (including shift premium) and there is a bonus available. There will be weekend and shift cover and overtime available and there is a company pension and 34 days holiday per annum inclusive of public holidays.
