Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented test engineer to join its development team in Edinburgh, UK. The ideal candidate will specialize in testing web applications developed using Node.js and React. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by identifying bugs, suggesting improvements, and collaborating closely with our development team as well as performing coding tasks as required as part of your development within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases for web applications to ensure the highest quality product delivery.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution, working closely with the development team to prioritize fixes.
  • Conduct regression testing, system testing, usability testing, and performance testing.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide detailed and clear testing reports to stakeholders.
  • Participate in sprint planning, providing feedback and insights to improve product reliability and performance.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role with a focus on web applications, particularly relevant will be direct experience working with financial data platforms.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (Selenium/Playwright).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development life cycle.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Authorization to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS) and other programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, React).
  • Experience with version control systems.
  • API integration testing, Postman scripting, DevOps principals
