We are supporting a leading Secondary School, based in East London, to recruit a Finance Officer on a long term temporary contract. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable and receivable ledger as well as other ad hoc duties.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices, ensuring proper coding and authorisation
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring outstanding payments and receipts
  • Preparing payment runs and ensure timely processing of payments, and accurate filing of remittances
  • Supporting the management of and other payment to or via school related activities such as donations from charity fundraising
  • Supporting budget holders with financial queries and reporting requirements
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing timely and accurate financial information for decision-making
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Maintaining proper documentation and filing of financial records
  • Liaising with Stakeholders professionally and promptly
  • Completing any other ad hoc duties when necessary

What we’re looking for:

  • The ideal candidate will have proven finance experience in a school
  • Experience working in the education sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with Stakeholders and staff at all levels
  • The postholder must have an in-date child Enhanced DBS, including the paper disclosure copy
