IT & Cyber Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT & Cyber Security Manager, based at our head office, to oversee IT operations and implement robust cyber security measures across our European business. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and strategic leadership to ensure our IT infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

IT Management:

  • Oversee and manage the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, and end-user devices.
  • Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Ensure IT services align with business needs, driving efficiency and performance improvements.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and vendor management.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams, ensuring minimal downtime and effective IT service delivery.

Cyber Security Implementation & Compliance:

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks across the European business.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, NIS2, and other relevant cybersecurity regulations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans.
  • Oversee incident response and disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity in the event of a cyberattack.
  • Provide cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with senior management and other departments to align IT and cyber security strategies with business goals.
  • Liaise with external vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Lead and develop a small IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, security, and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in IT management and cyber security, ideally within a multinational or European business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Experience with network security, firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM, and cloud security.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, NIS2, and Cyber Essentials.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and enterprise IT systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, ITIL) are desirable.
