Astute's Renewables team is partnered with an electric vehicle (EV) charge point installer and independent connection provider (ICP) who have a large order book and diverse client base across the UK. We're looking to recruit an Electronics Service Engineer for a site based in North Yorkshire.

The Electronics Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to 30,000, plus bonus and excellent benefits package. The purpose of this role is to service, repair and calibrate electronic equipment to component level.

Responsibilities and duties

As the Electronics Service Engineer you will:

  • Repair and refurbish a variety of light industrial electronic equipment to down to component level.
  • Test, calibrate, and document in-house manufactured AC-DC power supplies.
  • Create electronic documentation, including build instructions and repair procedures.
  • Follow safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and standards.
  • Engage in regular safety training as required.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Previous experience in repair of electronics, and ability to understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Skilled in hand soldering and reworking small SMD components.
  • Familiarity with basic test equipment (e.g., DVMs, Avometers, Oscilloscopes).



Personal skills

The Electronics Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:

  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of various switch power supply conversion techniques.
