We are recruiting for an Anaerobic Digestion Operator on behalf of our valued client in the Knaresborough area. Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a series of natural biological processes whereby organic waste material in processed to bio gas.

The role will be a hands-on role operating machinery on the site, managing feedstock (organic waste) throughput the process alongside assisting in plant maintenance, general upkeep and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of the plant during steady state, start up, shutdown and emergency situations as directed by the Operations Manager
  • Ensure day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incident to the Operations Manager.
  • Work within the company’s Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental System and all relevant legislation.
  • Carry out routine plant inspections and adjustments/operations as required collecting and recording plant data.
  • Responding to first line and breakdown maintenance requirements as far as background and experience permits.
  • Able to safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck, front Load mechanical shovel and grab crane. (Training will be offered to suitable candidates).
  • Loading fermenter/dry digester with organic material.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Anaerobic Digestion
  • Front end loader/shovel licence

  • The ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility during dynamic situations
  • Completer/Finisher able to deliver results on schedule
