Reception Teacher

Full-time role

We are seeking a qualified, passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join the team at a lovely Primary School in Knottingley. The role is offered as a full-time position from 07 November and will continue until 18 July 2025. You will play a crucial role in supporting children in the Reception class, helping them to thrive in their educational environment.

The reception class is in an open plan setting with 38 children. There is a teacher in the class who you will work alongside with the support of a full time TA and cover supervisor in the mornings. This role would suit an experienced teacher and also an ECT.

Through good practice, enthusiasm for learning and the ability to inspire and motivate others, you will harness the key strengths and energy of this Christian Academy. The role will provide opportunities to establish innovative ways of supporting and developing learning, underpinned by firm Christian values, as well as allowing the development of creative approaches and solutions which will further raise standards and create a climate of success for everyone.

As part of this role, you will be required to:

The successful candidate must:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner, in terms of challenging gifted pupils, supporting special needs and creatively organising the learning environment
  • Have high expectations and a commitment to raising standards and achievements
  • Have recent teaching experience in Early Years and Key Stage 1
  • Have a secure knowledge and understanding of the Early Years and Primary Framework and pedagogy
  • Be passionate about the development of the whole child
