Robert Half is partnering with a leading provider of recycling, forestry, and material processing equipment solutions, based near Knutsford, Cheshire. This company is seeking a part qualified management accountant to join its friendly team. Specialising in hiring and selling high-quality machinery from renowned global brands, it is a market leading business.

Role

As Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the Management Accountant by preparing and analysing key management information that will help the leadership team make informed decisions. You'll be involved in a wide range of finance functions, contributing directly to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and reconciling company bank accounts.
  • Preparing accruals, prepayments, and monthly stock reconciliations.
  • Preparing stock valuations and workshop job reports.
  • Posting nominal ledger journals.
  • Reviewing, investigating, and analysing areas of expenditure.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and publishing weekly profit & loss estimates and cash flow reports.
  • Completing ONS surveys and assisting with VAT return preparation.
  • Supporting additional finance and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborating with other departments on finance-related activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Part Qualified CIMA or AAT (with 2-3 years' experience in a similar role).
  • Experience in manufacturing or a similar industry, with a focus on stock-related work.
  • Familiarity with EPR systems
  • Strong Excel skills and excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the business.
  • A team player with a proactive, hands-on approach.
