Role: Senior Quality Assurance Technician

Job Term: Permanent

Location: Knutsford, WA16

Working hours: Monday to Friday 10am-7pm. This can vary as on some days you may be required to work 7am-4pm or 6am-3pm.

You need to be available to work some Sundays when required.

Pay: £30,000 per annum - this is negotiable

Job Description: Your key accountabilities and specific duties will be:

  • Check and report on all attributes of product quality both pre-harvest and post-harvest (shelf life).
  • Check and report on all attributes of product quality for the packing process and finished goods within the Co-Packing factory.
  • Liaise with the Co packing factory on all elements of quality and JPAO customer requirements.
  • Assisting growing staff in audit compliance with process checks (temp / PPM / gas / room) and report non-conformances.
  • Ensuring full understanding of the growing process.
  • Complaint’s investigation, root cause identification and recommended corrective actions, including RCA,
  • Conducting and auditing compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Assist other team members in developing and amending standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the training of standard operating procedures when required to do so.
  • Collate QAS’s.
  • Auditing water recycling process.
  • Conducting and reporting on GMP audits.
  • Conduct glass and hard plastic audit.
  • Conduct equipment calibration audits.
  • Collect seed, product & water samples as required.
  • Record seed intake details to ensure full traceability.
  • Manage the control of paperwork and documentations.
  • Can conduct technical element of new staff inductions.
  • Managing Laundry collections
  • Pest control
  • Implement corrective action where required and RCA.
  • Comply with all appropriate HR & Safety policies & policies.
  • Conduct internal audits in adherence to set schedule based on BRCGS standard
  • Maintain and populate certain parts of the QMS (logs, schedules etc.)
  • Audit staff competency and process activities related to CCP’s
  • Deliver small on-site projects related to technical performance
  • Issue out Non-conformance reports internally and externally
  • Support administration tasks in the office
  • Food production operative duties
  • Making sure the production area is clean (will be required to use a jet washer from time to time)
  • Manual Handling
  • Hygiene Operative duties

Required Experience: Experience is a similar role is essential. Ideally you will also have the below:

  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3
  • Level 2 HACCP Trained
  • COSHH Trained
  • Understand BRC
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience with BRC and actively participating in audits
