We are working exclusively with our extremely prestigious construction firm near to Knutsford, for a brand new purchase ledger role. An exciting opportunity has arisen, to join this highly regarded company specialising in construction, maintenance, and design projects across the North West. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manually entering purchase invoices into the system as needed
  • Ensuring accurate allocation of purchase orders and invoices to appropriate accounts and project codes
  • Coordinating the timely approval of invoices by relevant department managers
  • Managing the use of construction industry scheme features within the software to process and verify subcontractor transactions
  • Reviewing supplier statements and reconciling accounts as needed
  • Handling supplier inquiries via phone and email
  • Administering supplier payments as per company procedures
  • Placing and processing purchase orders on behalf of operational teams
  • Recording purchase orders into the accounting system
  • Maintaining an updated list of approved suppliers and subcontractors in project management tools
  • Processing and managing staff expense claims
  • Assisting with various tasks for the accounts department as requested by senior finance staff
  • Supporting broader administrative duties as needed across different management teams

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in purchase ledger management (500+ invoices per month)
  • Proficient in Sage Accounts and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with a purchase ledger system is desirable
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle supplier queries professionally
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in the construction industry and CIS scheme preferred
