Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | South Lanarkshire | £41,636 + Overtime & Benefits

A leading company in the recycling and energy from waste sector is seeking a time served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their continental shift team in their modern facility in South Lanarkshire. The role is based on the border of West Lothian and just a 12-minute drive from J4a of the M8 so easily commutable by car.

What Youll Do As Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
  • Maintain and optimize a wide range of advanced recycling and refuse machinery.
  • Execute proactive preventive maintenance schedules and swiftly address reactive mechanical repairs.
  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the facility.
  • Work with and assist the coordination of contractors
  • Actively promote safe working practices throughout the plant
What Were Looking For:
  • Time-served mechanical engineer with at least an HNC qualification.
  • Solid experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a factory or heavy plant setting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyors.
  • Proficiency in MIG/Stick welding would be beneficial though not necessary.
  • Ability to work independently, safely, and effectively manage a busy workload.
