Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering with a successful and fast growing PE backed insurance broker as they look to recruit a Financial Accountant to support one of their new acquisitions.This is a newly created role, that will play an integral role in supporting the continued growth of the Group, as they push to achieve their targets of increasing their turnover by 300%.You will work as part of the Group finance team and will be responsible for preparing and reconciling the Financial accounting for the newly acquired business. This is a hybrid role with two days a week in Lancaster and the rest from home.

The ideal candidate will have trained in Practice and will also have experience within financial services. Insurance knowledge would be ideal and in particular an understanding of regulated insurer money calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of month-end journals 
  • Conduct full month end analysis of P&L
  • Calculating the Insurer money calculation adhering to the FCA rules
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts 
  • Preparation of year-end supporting documents supporting the outsourced financial accounts production
  • Providing support to external auditors 
  • Cashflow monitoring of transactions to support the forecasting process
  • Support system improvements across the business
  • Maintain and enhance robust processes and controls in line with Group requirements

Skills / qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong Excel skills 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • An audit background is highly desirable
  • Prior experience of working within Financial Services
