Reed Finance Lancaster & Cumbria are pleased to be working with an innovative, forward thinking business based just outside of Lancaster to recruit a Management Accountant for the growing team.

This newly created role is to support the Financial Controller in delivering the financial objectives. As the Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate financial statements, managing the budgeting process, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and safeguarding our assets. You will also be responsible for effectively managing the finance team and continuously improving our systems and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the finance assistant, who supports the management account process.
  • Maintain system data and generate weekly management reports for the leadership team.
  • Update and maintain financial data to produce monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements within agreed reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare financial reports and graphs for the monthly management board pack.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and accurately record capital expenditures and monthly depreciation.
  • Process monthly cost of sales, production sales, and transfer data into the accounting system.
  • Calculate and review monthly cost of sales for different business areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a finance team.
  • Confidence in dealing with external stakeholders such as auditors, insurers, and HMRC.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to managing and delivering tasks within specified deadlines.
  • Full accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) ideally however qualified by experience may be considered.
  • Advanced skills in data extraction and manipulation.
