Job Title: Part Qualified Accountant
Location: Lancaster, Hybrid/Office (3 days per week minimum)
Remuneration: 27,000 - 30,000 per annum
Contract Details: Permanent, Full Time
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accounting team meets monthly KPIs, including bank reconciliations, VAT, and payroll.
- Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns.
- Provide basic personal and corporate tax advice.
- Prepare annual and corporation accounts to final stage.
- Handle HMRC and client HMRC queries and correspondence.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by answering calls, emails, and managing queries and complaints.
- Promote quality service to enhance client retention and growth.
- Prepare and review VAT returns.
- Report on personal and team performance to managers and senior managers.
- Attend client meetings as needed.
- Collaborate as a vital team member to achieve the Company's goals.
- Act as an ambassador for the organisation, promoting high standards of behaviour and attitude.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, enhancing skills for the benefit of all.
- Share knowledge and experience to support the development of other staff members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Motivated and enthusiastic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills to deliver a professional, punctual, and accurate service.
- Knowledge of company and personal taxation.
- Understanding of VAT preparation.
- Competent IT skills with proficiency in Word and Excel.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Fully Qualified in AAT, ACA, or ACCA.
- Previous experience in preparing annual accounts.
- Familiarity with accounting software.
