REED Finance are seeking a Qualified Accountant to join an accountancy firm based in Kendal. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and talented individual to manage a team of accountants responsible for delivering services to a diverse portfolio of clients. The role includes planning workloads, liaising with clients, providing complex tax advice, and ensuring the highest quality of service.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Conduct client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Manage and evaluate the performance of a team of accountants.
  • Provide complex tax advice and prepare annual accounts.
  • Complete self-assessment tax returns and handle HMRC audits or investigations.
  • Address complaints and complex issues from clients.
  • Monitor and analyse data in relation to KPIs.
  • Attend management meetings and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud accounting software including FreeAgent, QuickBooks, and Xero.
  • Proven background in accounting and managing a client portfolio.
  • Excellent attention to detail and varied accounting and taxation knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide professional, punctual, and accurate service to clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate, supervise, and report performance to seniors.
  • Exceptional time management ability with the ability to prioritise workload to meet all deadlines.
  • Previous experience of managing a team is essential.
  • Client-focused attitude and commercial awareness.
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of capital gains and inheritance tax.
  • Experience with HMRC audits and investigations.
  • Experience in performance management.
