As a Qualified Accountant, you will maintain financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the practice team.
Day-to-day of the role:- Conduct client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
- Provide complex tax advice and prepare annual accounts.
- Review and sign off on work completed by the accounting team.
- Handle self-assessment tax returns, HMRC audits, and investigations.
- Address client complaints and manage complex issues efficiently.
- Monitor and analyse data related to KPIs and attend management meetings as required.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm, promoting high standards of behaviour and supporting company objectives.
- Commit to professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Use expertise to mentor and develop other staff members, contributing to the future success of the firm.
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Proficient in cloud accounting software such as FreeAgent, QuickBooks, and Xero.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a client portfolio and team.
- Strong accounting and taxation knowledge, including income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on providing professional and accurate service to clients.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and report to senior management.
- Exceptional time management skills, ensuring all tasks are completed daily and deadlines are met.
- Knowledge of capital gains and inheritance tax.
- Experience with HMRC audits and investigations.
- Experience in performance management.
