£40 p/h

A local authority in the North West is recruiting for an Independent Reviewing Officer to start ASAP.

Travel is required for face to face meetings within the area, WFH is available for writing up reviews, office and touchdown points also available, Meetings will be held as and when required and attendance to the office will be required at this time.

  • To chair reviews for CLA young people including the associated administrative tasks. These will usually be held face to face.
  • To monitor progression of care plans for allocated young people
  • To participate in team meetings, the duty system and the first review system
  • To attend supervision monthly
  • To travel as required to see young people and attend reviews county wide and beyond.
  • To highlight any drift in care planning and raise escalations as appropriate.
  • To ensure young people have the opportunity for an independent IRO visit at least annually
  • To undertake any audit work requested.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in statutory social work functions, including safeguarding and support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.
  • Commitment to promoting social change, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and maximising independence.
