Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated School Site Supervisor, for a primary school in the South Lancaster area. to oversee the maintenance and security of our school premises.

As the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the school environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors. This role is critical to the smooth running of the school, and you will play a key part in maintaining our high standards of health, safety, and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Maintenance: Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and in good working order.

Health & Safety: Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments. Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and emergency systems are functioning (e.g., fire alarms, extinguishers).

Repairs & Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, or coordinate with external contractors for larger repairs.

Security: Ensure the school premises are secure, including locking/unlocking gates, doors, and windows. Monitor security systems and report any concerns.

Cleaning Oversight: Supervise and manage cleaning staff to ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the school.

Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, sports fields, and gardens.

Inventory Management: Maintain records of supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and ordering new supplies when necessary.

Event Support: Assist with the setup and teardown for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Driver

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing a small team.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Facilities management qualifications or certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events.
