General Teaching Assistant - Reception Class

Location: Lancaster

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant. The role will be working in a Reception class at a warm in a welcoming primary school in Lancaster. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support young children in their early education journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class teacher with the daily running of the Reception class.
  • Supporting children's learning and development, including phonics and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) activities.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Encouraging children's independence, creativity, and social skills.
  • Preparing and organising classroom resources and activities.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of phonics and the EYFS curriculum.
  • A positive, nurturing, and patient approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to supporting the wellbeing and learning of all pupils.
  • This is a term-time only position.
