They are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our Reception team and support the development of our youngest learners.

Role Responsibilities

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to promote learning, social skills, and confidence.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining engaging learning environments.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team.
  • Deliver phonics sessions in line with the school's chosen phonics program, supporting children in developing early reading skills.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere that encourages exploration and creativity.
  • Provide pastoral care and promote the well-being of all children.
  • Support with daily routines such as snack times, toileting, and outdoor activities.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working in Early Years education, ideally in a Reception setting.
  • Hold a relevant childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Have experience delivering phonics sessions and a sound knowledge of early reading strategies.
  • Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
