  • Temporary Lecturer of Mathematics who can teach an existing University curriculum for 11 weeks starting on Tuesday 1st April 2025.
  • As they may be required to teach at a Pre-Master's level, they will need to have a qualification at MA/MSc level or above.
  • The role is face-to-face based in Lancaster, working with lancaster University
  • Looking for someone who can be available at 0.4FTE - will pay up to 15 hours (7 hours of teaching) prep is also paid for. (timetable below)
  • They will be teaching an exclusively international student cohort, so experience of this would be beneficial.
  • The module assessments will be written by someone else, but marking of the assessment in the 11th week would be expected, following a provided mark scheme.
  • Expected modules that we might ask them to teach - Mathematics (level 3), Further Mathematics (level 3), Quantitative Methods for Business (Level 6).

Mondays 13:30 to 15:30 (Further Maths)

Tuesdays 09:00 to 10:30 (Further Maths)

15:30 to 17:00 (Maths)

Fridays 13:30 to 15:30 (Maths)

(possibility timetable could be condensed in to 2 days)

Responsibilities of this role as Maths Lecturer:

  • Working in the Maths Department, you will be working with a variety of learners and be expected to meet the Universities standards of work
  • Providing additional tutorial and pastoral support to students across site as required
  • Delivery of Maths to level 3 and level 6Requirements of this role as Maths Lecturer:
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of delivering the subject.
  • A Maths related Degree is desirable but will consider engineering or similar
  • A current DBS
  • Must be able to travel to site in Lancaster
  • Qualification at MA/MSc level or above is essential
