Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Lancaster
Hours: 8:45am until 3.15pm, Monday to Friday. January 2025 until July 2025.
Salary: 14.20 per hour
Are you passionate about early years education and shaping young learners' futures? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join lively and hard-working Reception team in Lancaster. This position is to start in January 2025 on a long term, ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons.
- Assist in implementing daily phonics sessions, utilizing your knowledge and experience to enhance children's reading skills.
- Provide individual and group support to children, ensuring every child reaches their potential.
- Contribute to planning and delivering creative activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Carry out general TA duties, including preparing resources, tidying up, and supervising outdoor play.
- Observe and assess children's progress, contributing to their learning journeys.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working within EYFS, particularly in a Reception class.
- Strong understanding and experience of teaching phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds).
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude with a passion for supporting young learners.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is desirable.
