About the Role:

As part of our clients expanding team, we're looking for a skilled IT Technical Engineer to provide comprehensive IT support to schools across Lancashire (within a 1 hour radius of Lancaster).

You'll be responsible for maintaining school networks, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a smooth-running IT infrastructure. Acting as the main point of contact for your assigned schools, you'll play a key role in delivering a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver IT support across school networks, ensuring systems remain functional and secure.
  • Install, configure, and maintain a range of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, iPads, and servers (Windows & macOS).
  • Provide first, second, and third-line support, diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Assist with network setup and maintenance, including Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Offer responsive and professional customer support to staff and students.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider IT team to enhance service delivery and tackle complex challenges.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in IT support, ideally within an educational setting (highly desired)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Familiarity with school IT infrastructure, including operating systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training provided).
  • A relevant IT qualification or evidence of further study in a related field.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: A personal vehicle is required for travel between schools (mileage expenses covered).
  • Employment Type: Permanent, full-time position (subject to a six-month probationary period).
