We are working with an innovative, cutting-edge organisation at the forefront of process engineering based in the Northwest / South Lakes area of the North of England. Our client operates a technologically advanced facility focused on revolutionising the industry through automation, digitalisation, and sustainable manufacturing practices. With a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, they are now seeking a highly skilled and visionary Site Director to lead their operations and ensure the site’s continued success and growth. The Site Director will hold full accountability for the day-to-day operations of the facility, overseeing all aspects of site performance, including production, safety, quality, and innovation. The role requires an experienced leader with a strong background in process engineering, manufacturing operations, and the ability to leverage cutting-edge technology to drive operational excellence. As the senior leader on-site, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the alignment of strategic goals, and driving the site towards sustainable success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage all operations at the site, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic goals.
  • Oversee production processes, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced technologies, including automation, and digital manufacturing systems, to optimise productivity and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
  • Build and develop a high-performance leadership team, mentoring and coaching key personnel to support succession planning and talent development.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across various departments (Supply Chain, HR, and Finance) to ensure smooth operations and the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the site’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control.
  • Champion sustainability and environmental initiatives, ensuring the site’s operations are aligned with the company’s commitment to sustainability.

We are looking to engage with someone who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within process engineering or manufacturing operations, ideally in a high-tech or advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering principles, with a track record of driving technological innovation and implementing advanced manufacturing systems.
  • Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain a talented workforce.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence methodologies and their application in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with budget management, P&L responsibility, and driving financial performance.
  • Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments with a focus on continuous improvement and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
