Day to day you will be -
  • Leading engagements with Customer and Industry SMEs to elicit and capture information to generate Through-Life Support (TLS) solution concepts
  • Leading the development of architecture products, using a blend of traditional and model-based methods, to express the TLS solution concepts at a level appropriate to the maturity phase of the programme
  • Using these architecture products to -
    • Communicate the TLS Concepts to other programme stakeholders and customers
    • Support the development of TLS System Requirements and perform functional requirement derivation
    • Lead the development of TLS Concept Reports and develop communicable outputs for use by stakeholders of varying levels of seniority and technical competency
    • Facilitate the integration of the TLS Concepts in the overall GCAP/FCAS product and programme architectures
  • Providing line management / assignment management and supporting the development of other engineers (including in partner organisations)
  • Planning and co-ordinating team tasking, leading the inputs to planning sessions and reviews, and contributing to schedules of work and planning activities around concept deliverables and TLS architecture
  • Contributing architecture information and maturity status of concept deliverables into technical reviews, design reviews and gate reviews.
  • Working with the Systems Engineering Integration and Governance Teams to continually improve the concepting and architecture approach

Experience we are looking for -

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/Maths/Science/IT)
  • Knowledge and understanding of any Architecture or Systems Engineering techniques such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Enterprise Architecture or Business Analysis
  • Experience in at least one systems modelling or model-based architecture tool - such as CAMEO or MooD
  • Awareness of the Systems Engineering lifecycle e.g. Requirements Engineering, Solution Design, Verification & Validation, Test & Qualification
  • Knowledge of the capabilities involved in providing through-life support services to military products - with awareness of principles such Integrated Logistics Support or Integrated Product Support
