The role involves working within an established team including Graduate Engineers, Engineering Technicians, Project Engineers, Chartered Engineers, and Directors sharing work across our five offices. Â The team are continuously developing their skillsets to fulfil the needs and demands of our clients, and business goals. Although the candidate will be based in Lancaster, there are members of the Civils team based in each office and work closely together with weekly meetings on Teams to discuss the ongoing and ever-growing workload. Â Each engineer has several projects and clients that need managing at any one time.

About the candidate we are seeking
The successful candidate will be required to ensure best practices are applied within the office and to assist the Directors with improving design services and operational efficiency.

The ideal individual must be self-motivated, driven by a challenge whilst continually learning new skills and has experience working within a team and is confident at communicating in a consultation environment.

Essential Experience required
-Work place experience within Highways or Drainage design
-Proficient use of AutoCAD, Site3D and Causeway Flow or equivalent design software
-Producing detailed drainage or highway calculations and sketches
-Following principals outlined in CIRIA design guides, BRE digest, BS EN 752 and the Design and Construction Guidance
-Working experience within the adoptable standards Section 278, Section 38 and 104
-Commercial awareness of costing and budgets
-Report writing
-Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings
-Preparing Specifications
