Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a leading provider of industrial automation, test and measurement solutions to recruit a Facilities Manager in Runcorn, Cheshire.

The Facilities Manager role comes with a salary up to 48,000, up to 12.5% pension contributions, private medical and healthcare and supports across 3 facilities in Runcorn, Aberdeen and Isle of Wight.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to Operational Control, you will be:

  • Oversee the daily operations across 3 facilities within the group, ensuring the spaces are safe, operating efficiently and have all utilities, fire prevention, security, stock and general facilities management in place.
  • Plan and manage the budget for building maintenance and future site improvements where appropriate.
  • Schedule and manage repair and maintenance tasks, setting up preventive maintenance plans for the offices and working with external subcontractors to fulfil work requirements.
  • Travel to sites to set up welfare, ensuring the scope of works is mapped out and being delivered as expected.
  • Work on safety policies, inspect for hazards, and coordinate emergency drills.
  • Work with external facilities maintenance, security and cleaning companies, monitoring their performance to ensure workspaces are kept clean and safe.
  • Organize and oversee projects for site installations and renovations, ensuring they are finished on time and within budget.
  • Work with contractors and service providers. Manage contracts and monitor vendor performance.
  • Manage and develop an internal team of 2, manage workflows and providing feedback through performance reviews.
  • Other duties as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar senior role.
  • A BSc/ BA or equivalent in facilities management, engineering, business, or similar (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to multitask and be proactive.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 standards
