Senior Production Operator – Paper Manufacturing

We are looking for a skilled Senior Production Operator to join our team at our paper manufacturing facility in Lancaster. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a close-knit team of 7-8 operators, running state-of-the-art recycled tissue production. If you thrive in a hands-on role and are passionate about quality and safety, this could be the perfect role for you!

About the Role:

As a Senior Production Operator, you will be responsible for running the paper manufacturing machine, ensuring top-quality output while adhering to strict safety and operational standards. While 95% of the role involves operating the machine, you will also step up as Team Leader in their absence (5% of the time), ensuring smooth operations across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Paper Machine to a high standard of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
  • Understand the papermaking process thoroughly to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
  • Identify and address any faults or quality issues, logging and communicating with the team as needed.
  • Test and analyze each reel produced, making adjustments to maintain product specifications.
  • Cover for the Team Leader, ensuring smooth operations in their absence.
  • Safely and efficiently start up and shut down the machine as required.
  • Lead and assist with machine clothing changes.
  • Perform Risk Assessments and manage risks efficiently.
