Reed Accountancy & Finance Lancaster are delighted to be supporting one of our longest standing clients with an urgent requirement for a Payroll Assistant to join the established Finance Function. The client is ready to appoint immediately so if you are interested in finding out more, please call Reed Lancaster. The role is office based in a great location not far from the motorway junction with free parking.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of one weekly and two monthly payrolls on Sage Payroll software.
  • Enter hours and expenses maintaining payroll pay scales such that all payments are completed accurately and on-time.
  • Complete relevant HMRC paperwork returns and ensure submitted within deadlines.
  • Maintain nominal coding in automated interfaces from Sage Payroll into Sage 200.
  • Participate in any projects to develop the payroll processes and database, taking a lead on identifying improvements and playing a key role in implementing any resultant changes.
  • To keep abreast with the developments in Payroll rules and regulations and to contribute to their implementation.
  • Ensure smooth closing of all weekly payroll ledgers.
  • Monthly reconciliation of all payroll control accounts in line with Management Accounts Reporting Timetable.
  • Ensure all deductions from wages are paid across to relevant bodies on time
