With strategically located sites throughout the UK, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager at their Lancashire site.

Role Description: We are seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to manage our site Quality Management System (QMS) and parts of their Food Safety Plan. This role ensures that they maintain their high standards and uphold their core values. The successful candidate will lead the Quality team, ensuring compliance with customer, company, and legislative quality requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the site Quality team, ensuring they have the skills, resources, and capability to achieve team objectives.
  • Ensure all quality requirements from customers, the company, and legislation are integrated into the QMS.
  • Conduct internal audits of systems.
  • Collaborate with the site Technical Manager (TM) to develop and maintain an effective QMS and Food Safety Plan.
  • Ensure the internal audit operation effectively meets QMS requirements.
  • Actively participate in the site HACCP team.
  • Assist the site TM in managing technical KPIs.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the engagement of customers' technical teams.
  • Assist in managing regulatory contact, leveraging knowledge of food hygiene and standards legislation.
  • Aid in managing third-party accreditation requirements.
  • Enhance team performance, efficiency, and service levels while driving employee engagement.
  • Foster the development of an enhanced, future-fit employee skill set and flexibility.
  • Support trainee development to ensure a robust future workforce.
  • Ensure all products meet Food Safety & Brand Integrity requirements as defined by high-profile customer requirements and BRC standards.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in food production as a Quality Manager or Supervisor.
  • Ability to promote quality standards and lead by example.
  • Results-driven with great attention to detail and strategic ability.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Effective facilitator and motivator.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and keen on supporting others' development.
  • Strong people management and influencing skills.
  • Accredited Food Hygiene and HACCP certification at minimum level 3.
  • Highly desirable: BRC and TACCP/VACCP experience.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (essential for health & safety, traceability, management, and quality control).
