This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and forward-thinking business with a solid pipeline of work across the region.



About the Company

With over 30 years of experience, this North West-based main contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality design & build, refurbishment, and new build projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and heritage sectors.

They operate with a hands-on, collaborative approach and pride themselves on their excellent client relationships and repeat business. Projects typically range in value from 1M to 8M.



The Role

Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Leyland. This is a varied role covering both pre-construction estimating and post-contract commercial management.

You'll work closely with the Commercial Director, tendering for new projects and ensuring the successful delivery of live schemes.



Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender returns, and commercial appraisals

  • Produce take-offs, bills of quantities, and tender documentation

  • Procure subcontractors and manage contract negotiations

  • Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts

  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost reports

  • Attend design and client meetings, offering commercial input

  • Support project teams with sound commercial advice throughout project lifecycles



What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a QS/Estimator with a main contractor

  • Background working on design & build projects

  • Comfortable handling projects up to 8M in value

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills

  • Able to manage multiple tenders or live projects at once

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred)

  • Full UK driving licence
