Secondary - Geography Teacher

Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic Geography Teacher to join a school in Lancaster on a long-term basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver engaging and informative Geography lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous but not essential.
• Utilise strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment.
• Assess, monitor, and record the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
• Participate in school meetings and events, and engage in continuous professional development activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Recent and relevant experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner.
• Reliable, committed, and capable of demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be patient and confident when working with children.
