  • We are searching for a College Principal for SEN at our various sites including Lancaster and Satellites
  • Our College offers both residential and day programmes at the main campus in Lancaster with our satellite services offering day programmes delivered in Barrow, Blackpool, Carlisle and Sussex.
  • All our college sites presently offer programmes for up to 165 young people aged 18 to 25 with a broad range of physical and/or learning impairments / ASD. Students are offered a variety of specialist support from highly trained staff, working alongside our tutors.

College Principal - Salary: Up to £80k - this may be increased for exceptional candidate.dependent on experience. Additional car allowance and potential to earn performance related bonus.

Relocation allowance will be available if relocation is required.

College Principal Hours and Salary:

  • 40 hours a week. Permanent position.Up to £80,000+ Per Annum,
  • Reporting to: Divisional Director - Education
  • Some travel will be expected.
  • We offer competitive salary
  • 33 days holidays (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days (including bank holidays with length of service)
  • Mileage allowance

Start date: January 2025 or later in discussion with the appointed candidate.

College Principal day to day responsibilities

  • You will demonstrate a passion for building positive learning and working environments characterised by strong relationships, trust and respect amongst staff, learners, parents and carers.
  • You will lead an innovative and creative curriculum across the school and service that delivers quality outcomes for all learners. You will ensure the school makes the best possible use of resources and you will develop and maintain the school’s self-evaluation framework which clearly identifies strengths and areas for development.
  • You will lead the management team and have the responsibility for staff, resources, student attendance, parental concerns or complaints and health and safety on all the sites.
  • You will foster and role model a culture of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring that every child’s needs are met.
  • You will deliver a programme of enrichment opportunities, working in partnership with other agencies in providing for the academic, health, social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of children.

Education and other requirements of College Principal

  • Bachelor's (required)
  • Hold QTS (or QTLS), a degree and NPQH. (Qualification in SEND education desirable).
  • Have substantial, demonstrable leadership and management experience in a SEN school and of developing and managing staff teams.
  • Have recent experience of successfully leading schools through Ofsted inspections and ISS requirements
  • Have experience of Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning
