Trainee Transport Planner (Transport Broker)

Runcorn, Cheshire

£24,000 - £28,000 + Bonus  

Friday – Monday, 08:00 – 17:00  

Situated in Runcorn, I am currently hiring a Transport Broker to join a large organisation specialising in traction only and sub contraction of general haulage loads.

The Candidate; 

  • A background of working within Transport & logistics operations
  • Previous experience with load sub contraction or a background within a transport clearance house is highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational abilities.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities; 

  • Coordinate load opportunities with third-party subcontract partners.
  • Input and manage work orders within the transport management system.
  • Communicate with customers about load opportunities and provide timely updates.
  • Ensure customer orders are aligned with transport plans.
  • Manage and respond to inquiries efficiently.
  • Support the onboarding process of new hauliers.
  • Assist in driving new customer sales efforts.
