Innov8 R&D, established nearly six years ago, has experienced significant growth, supporting over 600 clients each year with R&D, Land Remediation, and Video Game Tax Credits. Our primary focus remains R&D tax relief, where our team partners with businesses across diverse industries to identify qualifying R&D activities, quantify the related expenses, and secure the corresponding R&D Tax Incentives. Due to our exciting period of growth, we are now looking to expand our team by hiring a new member.
Role
As a Tax Consultant, you will focus on R&D and Innovation Tax, overseeing clients' Tax Credit claims and identifying R&D tax relief opportunities. You’ll assist in drafting R&D Tax Credit claims for HMRC submission and take full responsibility for managing your client portfolio, building strong relationships with key decision-makers.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys client interaction, problem-solving, and staying at the forefront of tax innovation.
Responsibilities
- Interaction with clients to develop a comprehensive understanding of the projects undertaken and identify how aspects of these projects. meet the eligible criteria through directing technical meetings.
- Collating a clear technical narrative to support tax relief claims.
- Preparation of financial calculations to support tax relief claims.
- Develop financial knowledge and expertise to better support/ advise clients.
- Provide an exceptional client management service to enhance the broader network of the company.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in either accountancy/finance roles and/or
- AAT/ATT bookkeeping qualifications

- Capability for high pressure work whilst maintaining attention to detail and ensuring accuracy

- A trustworthy individual with good listening skills.
- Good English and Math skills.
- Good working knowledge of IT.
- Must be based within an hour of Lancing.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills
- Previous experience working in team-based and consultancy environments.
- Prior experience working in a finance team.
- Prior experience of working with Monday.com.
- Previous experience of working with Research and Development (R&D) tax relief.
- The ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge.
Remuneration
£25,000 - £34,000 dependent on experience as well as discretionary bonus (10% of salary), 25 days holiday.
