Risk Lead

Are you ready to take the lead on risk strategy within a major infrastructure environment? Were on the lookout for an experienced and forward-thinking Risk Lead to join our Capital Delivery team. In this strategic role, youll shape how we manage uncertainty across complex utility programmes helping to safeguard delivery and drive long-term value.
You'll partner with senior leaders and project teams to embed intelligent, proactive risk management approaches that influence decisions, protect outcomes, and boost resilience across the board.
What You'll Be Doing:
Acting as a trusted advisor across delivery teams, embedding a strong risk culture and raising performance standards.
Providing expert advice on identifying and managing risks enabling confident, strategic decisions.
Leading the development of frameworks, tools, and assurance practices to keep projects aligned and risks under control.
Hosting engaging risk workshops across disciplines from design and construction to commercial and programme management.
Enhancing commercial acumen through QSRA and QCRA approaches to integrate robust risk insights into planning and delivery.
Simplifying risk and controls processes while ensuring compliance with governance and policy.
Coaching teams to strengthen risk capability and instil a mindset of foresight, adaptability, and ownership.
What You Bring:
Significant experience in risk leadership roles within large utilities or infrastructure projects is essential.
Direct experience in water sector programmes is highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of risk practices across portfolio, programme, and project levels including both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Strong familiarity with NEC contracts, particularly NEC4, and contractual risk exposure.
Confident engaging at all levels, from project teams to senior executives.
Proven facilitator of high-impact risk discussions, with the ability to turn insights into action.
A natural leader and coach who builds capability and culture.
Ideally holds a recognised risk qualification such as AIRMIC or IRM.
