Adult Support Worker - Residential - Lancing - £27,000 + Sleep in rate

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Empowering Lives: Providing tailored support to adults with learning disabilities, epilepsy, acquired brain injuries, and mental health challenges, fostering their independence and promoting a positive quality of life.
  • Holistic Support: Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and light housekeeping, while prioritising individual needs and preferences.
  • Community Integration: Supporting individuals to engage in meaningful activities, attend appointments, and access community resources, promoting social inclusion and well-being.
  • Mental Health Support: Providing empathetic and understanding support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, creating a safe and supportive environment.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintaining detailed and accurate records, including daily notes and incident reports, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Working closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to support.
  • Flexible Shifts: Working flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins, to meet the needs of the individuals we support.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience Matters: Proven experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, epilepsy, and acquired brain injuries. Experience in mental health support for young people or adults is a significant advantage, and a MHFA certificate is a bonus!
  • Compassionate Communication:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.
  • Care-Focused Background: Previous experience as a care assistant, in social care, or working with vulnerable individuals is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility and Dedication: Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Team Player: Dependable and able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Continuous Learning: Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Driving Advantage: A full UK driving licence and access to a car is a significant advantage.
  • Enhanced DBS: A NEW enhanced DBS certificate will be required.
