Role and Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and Support: Engage with students with Social and Emotional Mental Health Difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • Create Joyful Learning Experiences: Assist with dynamic classroom activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment where students can flourish.
  • Provide Compassionate Care: Offer personal care when needed, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support, with kindness and respect.
  • Implement Tailored Education Plans: Work closely with classroom teachers to deliver individualised education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique needs.
  • Foster Engagement: Cultivate a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere to motivate student participation and enthusiasm.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work hand-in-hand with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide comprehensive care and education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is a plus but not a must.
  • Ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour.
  • Willingness to provide personal care as needed.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and potential off-site activities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
