Are you practical, curious about how things work, and looking to build a career in mechanical or electrical engineering? We're looking for someone to join our friendly team just outside of Cambridge to help test and build products. No need to be an expert - if you're hands-on, eager to learn, and have some basic skills or training, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
* Helping test products to make sure they work properly.
* Building simple testing equipment (we'll show you how).
* Keeping track of test parts and tools.
* Making small adjustments to parts using workshop tools (we'll train you if needed).
* Helping to put together product parts ready for testing.
* Occasionally driving products to testing sites (you'll need a full driving licence for this).
What We're Looking For:
* Some basic training in mechanical or electrical engineering (like a diploma, apprenticeship, or hands-on experience).
* You're comfortable using basic tools and measuring equipment.
* You're happy to learn about systems that use air (pneumatics) and basic control systems.
* You're organised, hands-on, and enjoy solving practical problems.
* Basic computer skills (like using Microsoft Word and Excel).
* Willingness to learn some basic programming for test machines.
* A full driving licence.
Nice to Have (but not essential):
* Basic wiring or soldering skills.
* Experience with Mitsubishi Alpha PLCs.
* Interest in building or designing simple test equipment.
* Comfortable working with numbers and analysing data.
