TeacherActive is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Colchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and rewarding environment, helping students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational programs and interventions.
  • Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility where required.
  • Foster students' social and emotional development through encouragement and guidance.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is essential.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
