Assistant Accountant - Based in Langley, Slough

Salary guide: 27,000 - 29,800, depending on experience + 26 day holiday + pension

Gleeson Recruitment Group have been asked to support this key client, as they seek an Assistant Accountant in this newly created role, to support the Finance team, and to directly report to the Finance Officer. Our client is very proud of what they have achieved and are a growing educational trust who look after a small group of local schools, and look after the accounting for the group.

As the Assistant Accountant, your role will be very varied and very interesting - ideally you will be able to offer some recent AP or AR experience and be keen to learn and hungry for more duties as the role develops!

Your main responsibilities will be varied and will include:

- Accounts Payable - matching invoices against purchase orders, supplier statement reconciliations

- Receipting and distribution of goods and services

- Assisting with payroll; banking; invoices, cheques and expenses

- Responsible for sales invoices

- Assisting the Finance Manager with month-end, ensuring all transactional processes are completed prior to the Management Accounts being completed

- Banking any cash as and when required

- Process and reconcile credit card transactions

- Systems - IRIS, Excel, Word, Outlook

The successful Assistant Accountant candidate will be able to offer

- Previous and recent UK experience of any transactional finance work

- Potentially have worked in an educational and not-for-profit setting previously (but not essential)

- Be hands-on, and assertive, with superb communication skills and a high attention to detail

- Be able to multi-task with ease!

- Be a strong team player and be able to support anyone in the team when needed!
