Our Client a Global manufacturing company are seeking a Electrical Design Engineer for a contract position of 6 months in Larne in Northern Ireland.

Role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will carry out the concept and design of electrical engineering products for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, best cost, durability, quality, and serviceability. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Engineering Manger.

For the right candidate, this role will include opportunities to travel for commissioning and product support.

Responsibilities:

In this role, As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for interpreting consultant drawings and specifications, developing new products and components, and preparing submittal documentation for projects.

You will meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals. Additionally, you will design controls and protection for generators, motors, and related equipment, specify and requisition components and services, and create bills of materials.

You will be responsible for all assigned work, work as a member of a project team, maintain project schedules, attend project meetings, and keep the electrical manager informed of status. Completing required project metrics and design documentation, assisting with product testing and evaluation.

Experience

  • As a Electrical Design Engineer you will have experience in product development with a strong technical background and a good knowledge of current engineering design practices.
  • Experience in the use of design packages such as ePlan, AutoCAD, or similar is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation standards, industrial controls, MCCs, and switchboards is advantageous.
  • A Degree, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, along with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Lower academic qualifications may be considered if extensive experience in a relevant product development role (e.g., design, test, commissioning, etc.) can be demonstrated.
  • Industry experience: Pannell Manufacturers, equipment manufactures, anyone who makes machines, machinery.
  • Electrical Product design experience is essential
