GSL Education is looking for a resilient and motivated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a school in Launceston. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them develop positive learning habits and social skills.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with challenging behaviours and additional learning needs. Working closely with teachers and SEN professionals, you will help students develop strategies to manage their emotions and behaviours effectively.

Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide structured support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement individual behaviour plans.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and engagement in learning.
  • De-escalate challenging situations using effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Support students’ emotional well-being and build their confidence in the classroom.
Requirements
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • Experience working in SEN, behaviour support, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
