Long Term Futures is working with a large secondary school in Waltham Forest to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated Student Care Team. This role is an excellent opportunity to be at the heart of a proactive team that supports students in overcoming challenges and achieving their potential.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll provide tailored support to students, helping them navigate social, emotional, and behavioural challenges while promoting a positive school ethos. The school is known for its inclusive approach and commitment to both staff and student well-being.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Work closely with the Student Care Team to develop and implement behaviour strategies tailored to individual students' needs
- Provide mentoring and guidance to students, supporting them in overcoming barriers to learning
- Assist with managing behaviour in and out of the classroom, fostering a respectful and positive school environment
- Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor student progress and implement effective interventions
- Act as a role model, encouraging positive behaviour and emotional resilience
- Support whole-school initiatives aimed at improving behaviour, attendance, and student well-being

Who We're Looking For:
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school or similar environment
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and an understanding of SEMH needs
Key Details:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday
- Paid 105 - 120 per day, term time only
- Based in Waltham Forest, London
- Start date: January 2025, with potential for long-term placement
